Follower Feature Friday: Iron Dog Metalsmiths

First off, I apologize for the lack of updates.  It's been kind of a crazy week, a bit stressful.  And our internet was out of commission for a couple of days.  So... Back to your regularly scheduled... uh, schedule.

Happy Friday to all of you, and especially to this weeks Featured Follower, irondog!

I have to admit, I'm particularly excited about this feature because do you know what irondog makes?  Chainmaille!  And I love chainmaille.  Ever since my first renaissance festival, I've had a fascination with it.  I even dabbled with it a bit myself recently, though I must admit I have not yet been particularly successful...

But irondog certainly has!  Just take a look:

I think this one's my favorite.  I'm a big fan of the Byzantine weave, to begin with and that anodized titanium is such a pretty shade of pink...  And I just love that they've taken something as stereotypically masculine as chainmaille and made something dainty and feminine with it.  I'm a sucker for that sort of juxtaposition.

I'm also a sucker for shiny, jingly things.  So of course, I love this:

Sterling silver and Swarovski crystals?  What's not to love?!  And this one has a feminine flair too.  So really, Guys.  You have no excuse now not to buy your girl some chainmaille.  Even if she's a girly-girl.

I also have to add that I really like the not-quite-chaos going on here.  This isn't nearly as ordered as your typical chainmaille, but there is still a pattern.  It's like Chainmaille went out and had a few drinks, loosened his tie a little, let his hair down, and had some fun.  He's still Chainmaille... just more laid-back.

Now, then.  This is the part where I send you off on your own to go check out the rest of irondog's shop.  Enjoy!  Me?  I've got work to do!
